Raghad Hammad is a Partner and the Co-Head of the Insurance/Reinsurance Practice at BLK Partners, based in Dubai.
Raghad has been involved in major (re)insurance projects, advising on legal and regulatory frameworks and collaborating with UAE regulators, large carriers, and stakeholders in the cedent and intermediary markets across the Middle East. She provides regulatory, corporate, and coverage advice to leading market insurers in the UAE. Her experience spans both the cedent and reinsurance markets, covering contentious and non-contentious matters such as licensing, claims management, arbitration, and proceedings in DIFC and ADGM Courts.
A recognized leader in the insurance sector, Raghad was named Woman Leader of the Year 2022 by the Middle East Insurance Review for her contributions to industry growth and women empowerment. Additionally, she was shortlisted for Insurance & Reinsurance Lawyer of the Year at the Women in Business Law Awards for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa Region for two consecutive years.
Raghad is a certified Part I & Part II legal practitioner admitted to practice before the DIFC and ADGM Courts and is registered with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department and the Jordan Bar Association. She is also a certified Wills Draftsman registered with the DIFC Wills Registry.
With over 18 years of experience, Raghad has held key positions including Chief of Legal at Eastern Investment Group Holding in Jordan, Head of Legal and Compliance at Global Investment House in Jordan, and Head of Legal at GIG Arab Orient Insurance Company in Jordan. Over the past 11 years in the UAE, Raghad has specialized in Insurance, Reinsurance, Corporate, and Commercial law, demonstrating extensive expertise in insurance regulation advisory, treaty reinsurance, claims management, licensing, and resolution of complex multi-party disputes.
Raghad holds an LL.B from Mu’tah University in Jordan and an LL.M in International Commercial Law from the University of Salford, Manchester.
